False. The people who created the image (art, illustration or photo) own the rights to those images. Any use without their written consent is a breach of copyrights.
If you are using them to illustrate a school project or something similar, no harm done, but if it's for a commercial use, be very careful!I that you can use artwork/images from a magazines, so long as no copyright symbol is present? True or False?
Actually it's true and false. A number of companies have been using copyright free artwork to save money. As a result. a lot of companies wind up using the same artwork because there's not database to indicate who has used what images. If you know for certain that the artwork is copyright free then you can use it.
However, if perchance a publisher or art department accidentally leaves the copyright symbol off printed artwork and you use it, you can still be held accountable for it.
